As a centralized integration platform, API Hub abstracts the complexity of our backend infrastructure, allowing you to focus on building your integration rather than managing multiple system connections. Behind the scenes, API Hub handles authentication, rate limiting, request routing, data transformation, and connection management to our backend systems. This means you work with a single, consistent API surface regardless of where the data originates or how our internal systems evolve over time. Your request should include details about your integration use case, expected API usage volume, and technical contact information. --- ## Shared Responsibility & Security Model As used herein, "METUS" means Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC. API Hub operates under a shared responsibility model for security and data integrity: ### METUS Responsibilities **Security of the API Platform:** METUS is responsible for maintaining the security, availability, and integrity of the API Hub infrastructure and underlying systems. **Access Controls:** METUS manages authentication mechanisms and initial credential provisioning. ### API Consumer Responsibilities **Credential Security:** You are solely responsible for safeguarding your API credentials, including storage, rotation, and access controls within your systems. You must notify METUS immediately (and in no event later than twenty-four (24) hours) upon discovering or suspecting any unauthorized access to, or compromise of, your API credentials. **Proper API Usage:** You are responsible for how you use the API, including data validation, error handling, and adherence to rate limits and usage guidelines. **Access Management:** You must implement appropriate security controls to prevent unauthorized access to your systems and credentials. **Data Integrity:** You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of any data you submit through the API. You shall not use the API Hub to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the API or underlying systems; (b) exceed your authorized access scope or circumvent security controls; (c) interfere with or disrupt the API Hub or connected systems; (d) use the API for any unlawful purpose; or (e) permit unauthorized third parties to access or use your credentials or API access. ### Suspension and Termination METUS may, in its sole discretion and without liability, suspend or terminate your API access immediately upon notice if: (a) you breach any provision of these terms; (b) METUS reasonably suspects unauthorized access, credential compromise, or misuse; (c) continued access poses a security risk to METUS or other users; or (d) required by law or regulatory authority. METUS may also modify or discontinue any API functionality upon thirty (30) days' prior notice, except where immediate action is required for security or legal compliance. ### Disclaimer of Warranties THE API HUB IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. METUS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. METUS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE API HUB WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. ### Liability and Indemnification METUS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for any damages, losses, or issues arising from: - Unauthorized access to or misuse of API credentials under your control - Data corruption, loss, or modification resulting from your API usage - Security breaches originating from your systems or environment - Any actions taken through the API using your valid credentials - METUS'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE API HUB SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES PAID BY YOU TO METUS FOR API HUB ACCESS DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). - IN NO EVENT SHALL METUS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE API HUB, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY. You agree to indemnify and hold METUS harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: - Your use or misuse of the API Hub - Security incidents resulting from compromised credentials under your control - Data integrity issues caused by your API operations - Any breach of these terms or applicable laws by you or your authorized users By using API Hub, you acknowledge and accept these terms of shared responsibility. --- ## Support - For questions or technical support, please reach out to your account representative. - Detailed API endpoint documentation is available in the links above. --- > **Note:** > All third-party access must use API Hub.
